According to Panos Panay, the Chief Product Officer of Windows Devices, Windows 11 is designed to bring you closer to what you love.

Good news, Windows 11 comes with new functions, cool features and design to ease your work and life. It is designed to bring a sense of calm and ease. A new Start button has been added and it has been given a new position which is at the center.

Some of the new features are: Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, Chat and lots more which we will review later here.

Release Date

The new improved successor to Windows 10 was released on October 5, 2021 by Microsoft.

Many laptop and PC makers have also declared that many of their new products will have Windows 11 pre-installed on it. It was also reported that there will be yearly update of the new Windows 11.

Price

Windows 11 comes at a free upgrade. You'll need internet connection to install Windows 11 on your PC. You'll also need to have a Microsoft account. It will also come pre-installed on new PCs but make sure you check before you buy.

The Start button now has a new look and a new location at the center of the taskbar. It comes with a simple and easy-to-understand design. The Start button now changes depending on the time of day and what you are working with.

There are also colorful wallpapers to choose from.

Thanks to Snap Layouts and Snap Groups which now gives you new multi-tasking ability which is being able to arrange multiple windows across the screen.

You can also create different or multiple Desktops. For example, you can create different Desktops for work, gaming, school or entertainment.

This feature enables you to connect with your family and friends. It is easy to use. Chat is from Microsoft Teams which is found in the taskbar.

Through Chat, you can now connect using text, chat, video or voice no matter the device your friends and relatives are on. If the person you're connecting with doesn't have Microsoft Teams installed on his or her device, you can still connect using the two-way SMS. That's good, right?

Good news, eh. Microsoft Store has been improved. It has been given a new look. More apps have been added like Microsoft Teams, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Zoom, Disney+, Visual Studio, Pinterest and more. You should be rest assured that any app you download from the Microsoft Store have been tested for security and is safe.

Another good news. Android apps would soon be brought to Windows for the first time. It has been stated by Microsoft that later this year, Android apps will be available in Microsoft Store. You'll be able to download them from Microsoft Store through the Amazon Appstore.

Latest Gaming Technology

Do you love playing games on your PC or laptop? If yes, I advice you to upgrade to Windows 11.

Today, more than hundreds of millions of people play games on Windows. Microsoft has improved Windows' gaming ability and added more gaming technologies like DirectX 12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, Auto HDR. Functions of these new gaming technologies are stated below:

  • DirectX 12 Ultimate: It enables high graphics at high frame rates.

System Requirements to Upgrade to Windows 11

The new Windows 11 has great and interesting features but there are system requirements that must be met to upgrade to Windows 11.

  • Processor: 1 Gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
  • RAM: 4 Gigabytes (GB)
  • Storage: 64GB or larger storage.
  • Display: High definition (720p) display that is greater than 9 inches diagonally, 8 bits per color channel.
  • System Firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable.
  • Internet Connection and Microsoft Account: You need an internet connection to complete the first setup of Windows 11 Home. Internet connection is also required to perform updates, download and use some features. You also need a Microsoft Account to use some features on Windows 11. In order to switch a device out of Windows 11 S mode requires internet access.
